CAB members gain valuable experience producing programs for the UNH student body and develop skills in team building, leadership and organizational skills while still having a great time. Pictured above is one of CAB’s Bingo events, which are held 3 times every semester, and each features a theme and different prizes to match it. In addition to Bingo, CAB is well-known for putting on a Jukebox at the beginning of each semester where all the student organizations recruit new members. They also a hold Stress Relief event at the end of each semester for students who are overwhelmed with the anxiety of finals.   —Jeff Moyer ‘11

Focus on Student Senate

November 6, 2009

senate1109The Student Senate holds its fall orientation for new members each year at Camp Cody in Freedom, New Hampshire. Senators learn about student government and play icebreakers on a weekend retreat that helps build team spirit and unity. This year, Student Senate is in its 31st session,  advocating for student interests, and the people who make it up represent the diverse group that is the UNH student body.
In the past year, Senate has helped obtain an additional ticket kiosk for the train station, provided wireless access to more areas on campus, and ensured that students got a voice in the budget process. Meetings are held every Sunday night in McConnell Hall, where Senators represent their constituencies to find the common good for the student body.  —Jeff Moyer ‘11
